Obituary for Nina Hannegan

Nina E. Hannegan

April 9, 1927 – November 19, 2017

Nina Hannegan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus surrounded by family on November 19, 2017. Nina has been a Satellite Beach resident for 50 years and will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends.

Nina was born in Hustisford, Wisconsin where she grew up on the family farm. After graduating, she ventured out to California where she met her husband, Jack, and together they lived the military life for over 25 years. Along with their three daughters, Karen, Becky and Colleen, they enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating. Nina gave back to the community as a volunteer with the Girl Scouts, Sunday School teacher and in the public schools. As a sales clerk for over 30 years with the Patrick Air Force Base Exchange, Nina faithfully served her customers and co-workers. Her work ethic was an inspiration to all. In retirement, Nina enjoyed playing cards and games as a member of the 55+ Club.

One of the most significant aspects of Nina’s life was her time spent with her grandchildren. She spent endless hours enjoying and caring for them. The addition of great grandchildren was a source of happiness for her.
Her quiet strength was the foundation for the Hannegan family and she will be forever missed. Her legacy of love, family and laughter will live on in our hearts.

Nina is survived by her daughters; Karen (Jerry) Propper, Becky (Glenn) Taylor, Colleen (Paul) Lord, grandchildren Troy, LeeAnn, Michelle, Shevon, Spencer, Alex, Kailey, Stephanie and Hunter; brothers Fred and Gene; and six great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Jack; siblings Lucille Reynolds, Ella Giese, Evelyn Qualmann, and Lyle Gerth.
