Mom, who would have thought? I don't know where to begin, it is so terribly confusing to me. This was so unexpected and left such a huge hole in my heart. Countless times I've gone to dial your number to tell you about the first day of class or work and I suddenly remember you're not there and it brings back all of the heart breaking memories. A bomb lands on my heart every day when I go to text you 'good morning, what are ya doin?'...when I'm gonna be passed curfew, 'Mom, I'll be late, see you soon'...and I realize I don't have to text anyone, I'm on my own now, forced to grow up and take responsibility. I don't know what to make of this, it's been over a month and it still feels like a bad dream, like I'm gonna wake up any minute. Dusty said to me the other day "Brit, Mom's not coming back, is she." I couldn't even look at him, I had to go to my room and cry. They say it only gets better, but I don't see how it can. You will always be in our home, in our dreams, in our thoughts, and in our prayers. We love you Mom...and we'll be seeing you...

Dearest Dede: I'm trying to think of where to start here. You were always there for me and I sure am going to miss our 5-10 calls to eachother each day ( getting your recipes over and over!!) You were the best mother and a wonderful sister and I will never forget all the special memories made. I will watch and love your children and will always be there for them. I also want you to know the neighborhood and their children just loved you and how lucky they were to have had you there for them. We are still gonna have our morning chats so listen for them. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. ALL MY LOVE NENE

Dede is a symbol of happiness and laughter and love. I haven't seen her in a while with the kids getting older and busier however her attitude and smile will always be an inspiration. She truly loved her children more than anything as well as cooking and drawing her friends and family around her. I am privileged to have experienced Dede Flanagan and her family. Thanks, Elaine xo

We were so very saddened by DeDe's untimely passing and our greatest sympathies go out to her family and children. DeDe was a great mom and once took me aside and personally thanked me for taking such good care of her son, Dusty. DeDe's giving and loving nature will forever live on due to her graciousness in being an organ donor to help save the lives of others. May you find comfort in DeDe's memories during this very difficult time. Your family remains in our thoughts and prayers daily. God Bless you during this very difficult time of loss. Becky and Victoria "Tori" Harrison

Words simply cannot express how much I am going to miss my sister, Dede. Since rushing to Satellite Beach to be with her in the hospital, my mind has been recollecting all the fun times, like a continuous slideshow, of which we have had together growing up, as well as in more recent years. I always looked forward to her periodic visits home and arranged my schedule to spend as much time with her as I could. She was such an incredibly devoted mother, and a fabulous cook. I have been so taken by how many people, young and old, Dede has touched the lives of and are rallying to support Dede and her family. It has truly been heartwarming. There is a large hole in my heart now which I hope will mend as wonderful memories of Dede keep her forever near. I will always love you Dede. Brother Mike (Karen and Jeff)
