Obituary of James Donald Leggett

James D. Leggett, Sr., 66, of Melbourne Beach, died, Thursday, December 03, 2009. He was born in Panama City, Fl. Jim was employed as a Police Officer for Miami-Dade County for 25 years prior to retirement, then moved to Melbourne Beach in 1999. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #354, the Azan Shriners Center of Eau Gallie and the Son's of Confederate Veterans. He is survived by his wife Kathleen of 20 years, his son; James (Silvia) Leggett, Jr., daughter; Nicole (Jason) Oda, his step-children; Rick (Jennifer) Gentry and Sean (Rebecca) Gentry, sister; Wynelle Dashiels and grandchildren; Brian, Erin and Sarah Gentry, Juliana and Ian Leggett and baby Beck Oda. A gathering will be held at Beach Funeral Homes 1689 South Patrick Drive, Indian Harbour Beach on Wednesday, December 09, 2009 from 10-11 a.m. with a funeral service to begin at 11:00am. Entombment will immediately follow at Fountainhead Cemetery in Palm Bay. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Police Officers Assistance Trust (POAT) Dade Co. PBA or the Florida Masonic Home for the Aged, C/O Beach Lodge 354 P.O. Box 033354, Indialantic, FL 32903.
