Obituary of Sandra Pullig Terry

Sandra Pullig Terry, known as Sandy by those close to her, was a beloved mother of three, small business owner, and retired engineer. She is survived by her three children, Jared, Amanda, and Ethan Terry and their significant others. Born and raised in Louisiana, Sandy moved to Melbourne, Florida at the beginning of her first career, being among the first women in the engineering field to work for Harris. She was known for her enthusiastic and strong work ethic. Her greatest satisfaction came by pulling together very different people to form strong teams that worked well together. People wanted to work with Sandy as she made work enjoyable and fun. Very few shared the drive and determination that Sandy had for her work. She excelled at her job, moving up the ranks and managing teams, taking pride in the successes of those around her, while simultaneously raising her three children. Sandy loved making people feel welcome and went out of her way to invite her friends and family into her household. She played host to many overnight visits, and having friends over to share in her company brought her great joy. She loved hosting large yearly Thanksgiving gatherings for her family and close friends alike, and during the holiday season, everyone looked forward to her traditional family recipes. Sandy always looked out for people and she fiercely supported those she was close to. If she thought you were down or hurting, she would not hesitate to reach out in ways that may have seemed extreme to an average person. Upon her retirement, she decided to open Painting with a Twist in downtown Melbourne with her long time friend Margo Descovich. Aside from working tirelessly for her kids and business, Sandy loved hiking, traveling, walking on the beach, and reading a good book. She was the most generous and caring person in any room she walked into. She had spunk and charisma and a smile on her face, even through her three year battle with breast cancer. Sandy fought hard and gained three extra years, Christmases, and birthdays, giving her more time with her family and friends, which we are all grateful for. She was kind, generous, and caring beyond words. She will leave a hole in hearts that knew and loved her. The children will hold an open house remembrance at Sandy's condo on the beach for anyone who would like to pay their respects or offer condolences on Sunday, March 22 from 12-3pm. Drop by whenever you can, and please keep in mind parking is limited. Carpooling is recommended. As many of you know, Sandy hated the camera and her kids would love to see any photos you may have and hear the stories behind them.
