Obituary of Charles C. Krawczyk

Charles C. (Chuck) Krawczyk, 80, of Indialantic, passed away at home on Monday, March 15, 2010 after an extended illness. He was born in 1929 in Buffalo, NY to parents, Kasper and Helen Krawczyk who were Polish immigrants. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a radar man on spy plane missions over the Iron Curtain. After returning home, he attended University of Buffalo where he played football for the UB Bulls and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. During his years at UB, he met the love of his life, Peggy Lillis. They were married in 1958. They spent their early married years in Syracuse, NY where Chuck studied law and became a patent attorney. They raised their three children in Rochester, NY and Cleveland, OH, eventually settling in Melbourne, FL. He helped organize the first youth soccer league in Brevard County. Chuck retired from Harris Corporation as Chief Patent Counsel. During his retirement years, he enjoyed researching and writing novels about the history of Polish-American pilots during WW I and WW II based in large part on the life of his father in the Polish Blue Army. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Krawczyk; sisters, Jean Storey of San Diego, CA, sister, Ellen Dyrek of Litchfield, NH; daughter, Cathy (Chuck) Lewis of St. Cloud; sons, Bob (Gina) Krawczyk of Oviedo, and Charley (Elizabeth) Krawczyk of Columbia, SC; and eight grandchildren, Danny, Erin, Kristin, Katie, Meg, Sarah, Chase, and Kelly. Visitation will be at Beach Funeral Home in Indian Harbour Beach from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 18. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 19 at 11 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Melbourne Kidney Center or charity of choice.
