Obituary of Gerard J. Smith

Gerard James Smith, 45, passed away Wednesday, November 3 in Melbourne, Fl. He was born and raised in the New York/New Jersey area and made Florida his home for the past 20 years. He is survived by his loving wife Nelsie and son Joshua, mother Catherine Engelhardt, father Joseph Smith II, brothers Joe, Al and Danny and sisters Carol Lynn Jewell and Marguerite Peretta. He is predeceased by his beautiful and deeply loved daughter Maria Christina. Immediately after graduating High School, he joined the Navy and served proudly as Crew Chief on the USS Kitty Hawk. He was an endearing person and had a charming, cheerful way about him that made you always feel like you were his best friend, which was surely the basis of his successful career in sales. Gerard was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church and enjoyed many hours sharing the Good News with his family and fellow church members. Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 7, at Faith Fellowship Church at 2:00 p.m.
