Obituary of John Robert Savor

John (Sonny) Savor was born on November 1, 1940 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. His parents were John Percy Savor and Helen Yarzebinsky Savor. He had three sisters, Beverly Savor Sliney who proceeded him in death, Janet Savor Reynolds of Zelienople, PA and Elaine Savor McDonald of Lyndale, Texas.

Sonny grew up in Ellport, PA and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. After graduation, he and his youngest sister Elaine followed their older sister Beverly down to Florida. Where they lived in heart of Miami.  

Sonny came back to Ellwood City, PA in August 1961 to marry his childhood sweetheart, Phyllis Rocco. After they got married Phyllis and Sonny returned to Florida until February 1962 when they decided to come back to Ellwood City to start a family. Son, John G Savor was born in June 1962 and daughter, Georgette Savor Roper was born in December 1963. They then returned to Florida in 1967 and had their second daughter Carole Ann Savor Gonzalez in March of 1972. He later became the Warehouse Manager for Southern Wines and Spirits where he remained until he retired in 1990.

What John loved most was his family, friends, singing, WWF wrestling, golf and football.

Surviving John is his wife of 59-years Phyllis Rocco Savor, Son John Savor from Miami, FL, Daughter Georgette Savor Roper married to Raymond Todd Roper from Melbourne, FL and Daughter Carole Ann Savor Gonzalez married to Lazaro Gonzalez from Melbourne Beach, FL.

The family has decided to not have a funeral or viewing at this time. Details about his Celebration of Life will follow in the coming days.
