Obituary of James Harvey Carter

James H. (Jim) Carter of Melbourne FL passed away peacefully at age 89, Monday, Oct 12, 2020.  Born Dec 30, 1930 in Pittsburg, Kansas, Jim served in the Air Force during the Korean War with service in Wakkanai, Japan as a Russian linguist.  He then graduated from Pittsburg State College in Kansas and received his Masters degree from Florida Tech.  

Jim served his country for 40 years as a Crypto Analyst at the National Security Agency and taught History at FIT.  He is preceded in death by his first wife Rosalee with whom he has three sons.  He is survived by his wife Pat, son Chris, son Robert and daughter-in-law Robyn, and son Larry and daughter-in-law Miyuki.  His extended family includes step-grandchildren Yousef and Jasmine, as well as Tim, JoAnne, Dan, and Kate Deegan and Jeannine Collins.  

Jim loved his family, trains, history, warships, warplanes, travel, good food, good friends, good beer, and Big Lots.  He will be sorely missed.
