Obituary of Leslie Edmund Eder

The life of Leslie Edmund Eder ended on January 14, 2021. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 9, 1938 to Gertrude Kass Eder and Samuel Harold Eder ( both predeceased). His brother, Howard is also predeceased. He is survived by his sister, Roberta Weinberg; his loving wife Patricia Eder; four children: Brian Eder (Joanne), Kim Miller (Matthew), Kent Swales (Amy), and Julia Swales (Carmine); eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and close friends. His intelligence, goodness and gentle kindness will be sorely missed.

Leslie grew up and attended school (achieved a PhD. in Physics) in New York. As an adult he moved to Maryland where he met his wife, Patricia. They lived happily together in Virginia, Germany, Japan, and Florida. He enjoyed traveling (visited over 100 countries), experiencing different cultures, gathering with friends to play duplicate bridge, attending concerts, and quiet times with his wife and family. He spent most of his career in the US Government Civil Service, and also taught mathematics and physics at various colleges and universities.
