Allison Parks

Obituary of Allison Ann Parks

Allison Ann Parks passed away on February 17, 2021, at home. She was born on December 12, 1994, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Gary F. and Joyce M. Parks, the second of their two children.

Sadly, before age 2, Allison suffered from a massive grand mal seizure and was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, a rare genetic disorder that can attack any organ of the body. In her case, it mostly affected her brain. She lost much of her ability to speak and understand abstract things.

The family moved to Florida, and, despite her many developmental challenges, Allie was a happy and even active person. She had many interests, including art, being outdoors, swimming, ice-skating, riding her 3-wheel bike, and gathering wild flowers. She took great pleasure in teasing her big brother, Daniel, whom she adored. It was Daniel who taught her to shoot hoops, and she later won many blue ribbons in Special Olympics competitions.

She attended Roosevelt Elementary School in Cocoa Beach, Jefferson Middle School, Satellite High School, and Bridges adult day training school.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Ralph and Catherine Parks, and Gilbert and Catherine Funk. She is survived by her parents, her brother, Daniel, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be private due to COVID 19 restrictions. Invitation Only.

Interment will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance or to the Bridges Foundation in Rockledge, Florida.

Allison gave us purpose and love. Those were her gifts.

We love you and miss you, our sweet girl.
