It is with heavy heart I offer my condolences to the family of Cecilia Knoll and all who morn her untimely passing. I last saw Cissy at a family members funeral & we shared memories of our mutual family. She was such a jewel to her parents, husband Bob, Children & grand children. She was one of the kindest, most sincere & loving souls I’ve ever known. Regret that we never got our families together again but spoke about a family reunion of “the new” order. Cissy, I will always love & feel blessed to have had you as my cousin.
Dianne

Dr Knoll, as I have known her for the past 30 years, was the constant in my education equation. I had the pleasure of having her as my TA (she was working on her graduate degrees still) during my undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering, she was the wave that carried me through my master's in Applied Mathematics 15 years later and shone the light on my path towards eventually earning my Ph.D in 2015. With a single sentence, Cecilia literally changed my life forever. I thank her parents for bringing such an exceptional human being into this world whom truly left it a better place and her family who so generously shared her with every person she encountered. Cecilia - your expansive embrace of so many will be missed, yet the evidence of the indelible mark you left on so many of our lives will continue for generations to come. I thank you always. In gratitude, Rahna Radhe Schiff, Ph. D Mathematics Education (because of Dr. Knoll)

Aunt Celia...I will be looking for your shining light in the heavens each night as I look to those who I have lost before you. Your candle of honor is being lit far too soon as you had so much more love and learning to share with those of us here on earth. Your kindness and laughter will never be forgotten and I send my love up to you. We will meet again! Uncle Robert, Melissa, Renee, and family, I am so sorry for this sudden loss and I wish I could be there to hug you tight, but please know that I am here for you and love you all so very much!
Your crazy cousin, Coral Hull Schober and Aunt Dottie Hull

Dr. Knoll will be missed by many of us in the FIT community. She was always willing to help or just pass time chatting. Most of all, she genuinely looked out for her student's well-being and was a committed educator. My apologies to all of you on your loss.

Cecilia,
When I wanted to give up getting my PhD you wouldn't let me! What a strong, beautiful, caring mentor I had for 7 years at Florida Tech. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We will miss our get-togethers at Amani's. You are going to be missed by so many.
To your family, I'm so sorry she left us way too soon. I know that YOU were her world and she loved you all so much. All of you came up in conversation every time we'd meet. She was so proud of each of you, and just always happy to brag about you!
Love,
Rita Lindsay

Dr. Knoll was the first professor I respected and appreciated at Florida Tech. I chose her as my Calculus professor for both semesters of my freshman year because I valued her expertise and guidance so much. She was an authentic professor who truly loved what she did and was helpful to her students. I loved how confident and assertive she was. It always cracked me up when a student tried to call her Ms. Knoll - she corrected them every time that she was Dr. Knoll. She worked hard for that Dr. title! She was funny too - a student started snoring during lecture and instead of getting mad at the student, Dr. Knoll just drew a sad face on his paper and let him continue to snooze. She made countless puns during class that I thoroughly enjoyed. I struggled with math in high school but Dr. Knoll taught in a way that did not make me feel like I was stupid. She gave me the best advice to never give up and to keep working hard. She told me that she actually failed some math classes during her undergrad but still pushed through and succeeded. That was such an important moment in my own journey in undergrad that I will always be thankful we shared. She was kind and a great professor to have. She made me appreciate math. I never knew how to repay her for those valuable moments, but as a gift, I painted a rose (the flower) on polar coordinates as an artistic play on a polar rose. She laughed so much when I gave it to her. She is greatly missed by so many. Thank you, Dr. Knoll, for being an incredible teacher. I am so saddened by this news. My condolences to her loved ones.
