Obituary of Virginia D. Simmons

Virginia Darling Simmons passed away peacefully on July 9^th, 2021 at the St. Francis Reflections

Hospice Care Center in Titusville, FL at the age of 97.

Virginia was born in Auburn, Maine in 1923 the daughter of Clarence and Grace Hersey Darling.  She married John Simmons Jr. in 1947 and moved to Brevard County shortly thereafter.  Virginia was predeceased by John; her husband of 51 years, her daughter SueAnn Rogers, her son John (Sprig) Simmons III, her sister Beverly Lobley and brothers Owen Darling, Russell Darling and Blaine Darling. 

She is survived by her two grandchildren Dana Cook and Robert Rogers Jr., her great granddaughter Alex Ellis, her brother Gilbert Darling and the extended Simmons and Darling families.   Virginia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  Those who knew Ginny will fondly remember her wonderful laughter, her generosity and her kindness to all. 

A service will be held on Sunday, August 1^st, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Beach Funeral Home Chapel – 1689 S. Patrick Drive, Indian Harbour Beach, FL.

The family would like to give special mention to Robin Cox-Laird for her attentiveness and care when we were not able to be there for Virginia.  Her loving support was a comfort to us all.
