Obituary of Irene L. Jarvis

Irene Lillian Jarvis, 78 of Melbourne, Florida passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Vitas Hospice Inpatient Unit in Rockledge, Florida.  Born into this life on October 19, 1942 in Greene, Rhode Island, Irene was a daughter of the late William and Lillian (Szczsponik) Gileau.  Irene worked as a Civil Service secretary for many years.  She was an active sorority Sister with Beta Sigma Phi since 1977.  She loved doing arts and crafts and traveled the world with her family as an Air Force wife.

Irene leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Raymond Jarvis; their three daughters, Brenda Stewart and her husband Harold of Melbourne, Florida; Bonnie Hughey and her husband John of Wichita, Kansas; and Leilani Pelchat and her husband Mark of Saint Augustine, Florida.  She leaves five grandchildren Bobbie-Jo Stewart of Melbourne, Florida; Katie (Stewart) Correa of Melbourne, Florida; Taylor (Hughey) Troll of Wichita, Kansas; Ethan Hughey of Wichita, Kansas; Mark Pelchat Jr. of Aspen, Colorado; and predeceased by baby Alex Pelchat of Hampton, Virginia.  She also leaves one great-grandson Andrew Stewart of Melbourne, Florida.  The oldest of eleven siblings, she leaves five sisters, two brothers and predeceased by two sisters and one brother, all of Rhode Island.

“She was and will always be a very loving mom, who will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”  May she rest is peace with family that have predeceased her.

Irene’s resting place will be in Rhode Island on the farm where she was born and raised at a later date.
