Obituary of David Lee Baroody

February 21, 1947 - August 13, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of David Lee Baroody announce his passing on Friday, August 13, 2021, at the age of 74 years, following a lengthy battle with metastatic prostate cancer.  David passed away in his Satellite Beach, Florida home, which he shared with his loving wife of 24 years, Dinorah.

David was born on February 21, 1947 in Richmond, Virginia to Sadassa and Solomon Baroody.  He took care and protected his siblings growing up.  He spent his summers with his favorite cousin Russell Timothy Wrenn (Pete) at his Aunt Margie’s farm, where he helped bring in tobacco.  David worked outside the family at age 15 and never stopped until his retirement.  He worked hard enough to buy his own car in high school.  David was a retired Air Force veteran that proudly served his country for over 20 years.  He had a beautiful bass voice and would sing with the family whenever possible.  He would sing Elvis to his wife and children.  He also loved being sang to by his wife and daughter.  His favorite song to sing and listen to was “Hallelujah.”  He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather who truly enjoyed his family and friends.  He was loved by all his immediate and extended family.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Dinorah Cecilia Baroody in Satellite Beach, Florida; his children: Michael Baroody and his wife, Holly in Ellicott City, Maryland; Elizabeth “Liz” Jackson and her husband, Curtis in Smithfield, Virginia; Brian Hamm and his wife, Domonique in Melbourne, Florida; Pamela Otto and her husband, Kevin in Melbourne Florida; his siblings: Gloria Ann Baroody Tioquen and her husband, Bob in Smithfield, Virginia; Deborah Carroll Fulcher in Kona, Hawaii; Vance Harold Fulcher, in Lebanon Tennessee; his grandchildren: Patrick Baroody; Trevor Addison; Sabrina Baroody; Lucas Baroody; and Makenzie Hamm.

Relatives and friends are invited to David’s Memorial Service with military honors on September 17^th at 11:30 am at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754, Lane C.  Due to other military memorials, please be punctual.

A reception will follow the service in Dinorah’s home.
