Obituary of Marcella Chandler Baker

Marcella McKinny Chandler Baker passed on Tuesday, September 2nd at her daughter’s home in Melbourne, Florida.

 

She was born on August 16th, 1929, the youngest of three children to Archibald J. McKinny and his wife, Ellen Bouchard McKinny in Brooklyn, NY.  She graduated from Garden City High School.

 

She married Robert J. Chandler on October 6th, 1951. They started their family in Levittown, NY. They had 7 children: Kathleen A. Chandler of Cornelius, NC, Susan A. Zapata Squires of Melbourne, Fl; Patricia A. Fahner (spouse, Craig) of Bristol, Vt; Ellen A. Bull of Melbourne, Fl; Matthew J. Chandler (spouse Elizabeth) of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Mary A. Jacob (spouse, Robert) of Melbourne, Fl and Carol A Rueh (David) of Melbourne, Fl.

 

There are 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

 

After the death of her first husband in 1984, she moved to Florida.  She met her 2nd husband, Gerald Baker. They married in October, 1993.  She and Gerry traveled extensively, enjoying road trips, cruises, traveling as far away as China with her stepdaughter to bring home her adopted baby girl.

 

She lived in Melbourne for 38 years.
