I am deeply saddened to have just learned of Susie's passing. I send my heartfelt condolences to Sean and your beautiful family. Susie was one of my dearest friends throughout nursing school. It was through our recent Gator Nurse publication that I learned of this sad news. Susie was beloved by her fellow students as well as by her patients. We shared so many special adventures during our Student Nurse days, including our very memorable Spring semester in Colorado. We attended your beautiful wedding, Sean. Susie was so proud to become your wife. And she was fiercly proud of her 3 handome boys, who have become such fine, caring young men.
Please convey my condlences to Susie's Dad and her siblings, Sean. Her parents welcomed me, along with several other close girlfriends, into their home during our college days. What a joy these visits were.
I am so very sorry.
In Christian sympathy and with much love,
Susan (Weeks) Sturm

My deep condolences to Susie's family. I joined the INOVA New Moms' group in 2018. I did not meet Susie, but what she created continues to provide vital support to families. The group was a lifeline for me and I think my family's trajectory might have been very different if I hadn't had the group as a resource and an outlet. Not everyone makes such a difference in people's lives, and her legacy will continue on through the countless moms and children her work has helped.

Dear Sean, Kienan, Brendan, Garrett and family,
We were so sorry to hear about Susie and send our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. We got to know Susie at Gonzaga and through her work with the Mother's Club. She was so energetic, hard working, conscientious, and organized, as well as patriotic and with courage of her convictions. We know she will be greatly missed by all of you, and by all who knew and loved her.
Please know that we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Linda and Kevin O'Brien and family

My condolences to Susie’s family.
I also was one of the attendees in the weekly ‘new moms’ group of INOVA who joined in 2009 and she was there to hear, support, and encourage me as new parent. It was a must gathering to attend and want to celebrate and thank Susie for being my Cheerful angel!

I heard of Susie’s passing today and I wanted to express my deep sadness, send my condolences to her family and let them know that she had a profound impact on my life.
Susie lead a “new moms” group out of INOVA Alexandria that I found online and joined in 2009. When I joined, my 1st daughter was about 6 weeks old and, like many of us do at that time, I felt like I was losing my mind and the postpartum depression was real. I went to the meetings for this group religiously 1-2x week for at least 6mo, probably longer. Susie taught us a lot and listened as we shared moments of joy, frustration, sadness, anger, or whatever emotion we were feeling. She facilitated a group that was one of the most accepting and motivating that I’ve ever been a part of.
Our oldest kids are 12, some turning 13 soon. I am still in touch with most of the women in that group and am proud, and INCREDIBLY grateful to call 9 of them some of my best friends in the world. They have helped to me stay sane and laugh through these amazing and incredibly difficult journeys that we call parenthood and marriage.
I know that I speak for all of the moms that were a part of her groups, may Susie be looking down on us and know how truly thankful we are that she was a part of our lives at such an important and pivotal time.
RIP
