Kimberly A. Lovejoy of Satellite Beach Fl and formerly of Camp Hill, PA passed away at home on September 16, 2021 after a long courageous battle with glioblastoma. Kimmie was born in Harrisburg Hospital on August 26, 1957 to Mary Jane (Bollinger) and George W. Lovejoy.

Kimmie was predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her parents and beloved niece Janie Lovejoy.   Surviving are her partner and spouse of 31 years Barbara Ferrell of Satellite Beach, her brothers Michael Lovejoy of Gardners, Pa, G.Kelly Lovejoy of Dillsburg, Pa and her sister Kathleen Sullivan of Camp Hill, Pa.  She is also survived by her nephews Joshua, Christopher, and Jesse Lovejoy, and great nephews Kylar Frick and Dylan Lovejoy.   Kimmie also cherished Diana Eichensehr and the William Sullivan Family of Camp Hill as her own.

Kimmie spent 25 years as a special education teacher in the Harrisburg City School District; the latter years at the William Penn Alternative Education program. She truly loved her job and the students she worked with. She enjoyed taking her students camping, getting them involved in the arts and helping them to develop the life skills they would need to succeed after high school. She made a great difference in many of their lives. Prior to her position with the Harrisburg City Schools, Kimmie had worked at Northumberland Center and Holy Spirit Hospital as a therapist.

Family and friends were a focal point of Kimmie’s life.  She will be remembered as a most generous, kind hearted and fun loving person with a true heart of gold.  She enjoyed family picnics at the cabin, fishing, camping ,and spending time at the beach.  Even after her brain cancer diagnosis, she continued to make everyone feel that they mattered and went out of her way to assist anyone who may have needed a helping hand.  She was a very, very special person who will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Services will be held at Rolling Green cemetery in  Camp Hill at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Kimmie’s memory may be made to the Brevard County Zoo (Petting Zone Section) 8225 North Wickham Road Melbourne, Florida 32940, where Kimmie served as a volunteer until she was no longer able.
