Obituary of Estella Mae Kronemeyer
Estella M. (Dolly) Kronemeyer was born February 12, 1921 in Zeeland, Michigan to John and Effie (Workman) Kamps. At age 4 the family moved to Grand Rapids. She was a graduate of Grand Rapids Central High School and Hope College class of 1942. She also attended Grand Rapids Junior College.
Dolly married William Buteyn in 1942 and became a war widow in 1945.
On May 25, 1946 Dolly married Arthur Kronemeyer who predeceased her in 2006. They raised their family in Rockford, Michigan and retired to Melbourne Beach, Florida in 1991. Dolly worked for Michigan Department of Human Services as a social work supervisor for over 20 years. She was an avid golfer into her 90s, enjoyed cruises, international cooking, BINGO, crossword puzzles and just about anything social.
Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Miles, both husbands, her son Edward Buteyn Kronemeyer, and daughter Betty Kronemeyer. She is survived by sons James (Judi) of Kalamazoo, Jack (Pat) of Rockford, and two granddaughters Yvonne Kronemeyer of Houston and Amanda Kronemeyer of Grand Rapids. In recent years Denise Jalicki and the staff of Hannah’s Home were her Florida family.
