James Arrajj, Jr.

Obituary of James Joseph Arrajj, Jr.

James Joseph Arrajj Jr., from Brevard County, FL and formerly of Lake County, IL, passed
away on November 19, 2021. Jim wore many hats over his 69 years of life including son,
brother, husband, father, grandfather, friend, business owner, landlord, and entrepreneur.

As a child and a young man, “Jimmy” was a caretaker of his family, always looking after his
siblings. As a young adult he was the lead singer of a band with his closest friends. He worked
for many years running crews for the Chicago Tribune, where he made a name for himself in
the newspaper sales world. During these years, he employed a lot of young men and women
who will forever know him as “Big Jim''. He is remembered fondly by many of those who
worked for him as being a mentor and father figure. Teaching the value of hard work and
perfection of your craft. He was never afraid to try a new business opportunity and taught his
kids how to work hard, putting them to work before they could even drive. He eventually found
himself moving to California to run crews there. He spent several years working and living in
both California and Florida, where he owned rental properties. Eventually, he moved to Florida
permanently and bought a restaurant in Satellite Beach and helped start a private school.

Along with loving the beach life, he really enjoyed road trips - priding himself on hours behind
the wheel and distance traveled! Getting behind the wheel of his vehicle and visiting the US
landmarks was a passion of his. He took numerous trips over the years with his children, one
of his favorites was a boy's backpacking trip to the Wind River Range in Wyoming. He was an
avid card player and loved history and photography. He collected many things over the years,
including: coins, stamps, and books. He loved conversation, never hesitant to share his
opinion or engage in a good debate. He was always there for his family but did so humbly,
never looking for thanks. He often went out of his way to take care of others when he could,
just doing the right thing. He wasn’t a perfect man but he was loved for who he was and will
be greatly missed.

He is survived by six children; Jim (Christy), Shannon (Eric), Aaron (LeAnn), Thomas, Jordan,
Alex and seven grandchildren; Kai, Lily, Alana, DJ, Dean, Jack and Benny.
