Obituary of Priscilla L. Gilbert

Priscilla Louise Gilbert, 85, of Indian Harbour Beach, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, February 18th.

Born to the late Douglas and Gladys Record Pate in Biddeford, ME, and raised in Saco, she attended Thornton Academy until meeting her husband, Allan at the age of 16. They were married in 1953 and spent the next 59 years together.

Priscilla wholeheartedly took on the role of a mother and military wife while traveling around the world and enjoying every second. No one was a stranger. Everyone was a friend. She had a bright smile with a contagious and sassy spirit. While Al was stationed in Germany, she spent some of her time as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts of America and was a member of the Melbourne Elks Ladies Auxiliary, here in Florida. She had many recipes published from her joys of cooking, and also enjoyed making quilts and crafts of all kinds. She was a classy lady, and known as "Grandma" to many.

Priscilla is survived by her brother Robert Pate, 4 sons; Dennis (Nancy), Thomas (Kat), Kenneth (Susan), and James (Luz). 7 grandchildren; Miranda, Mike, Devonne, Kelly, Gene, Jennifer and Jamie. 13 great-grandchildren, 7 great great-children, and her 2 dogs. She is preceded by her husband Allan Roland Gilbert, her brother Kenneth Wallace Pate, and her step grand-daughter Debbie Blake Lomax.
