Hastings and his wife, Clara (D’Amato) Hastings.

Joe grew up in Malden, MA and graduated from Malden High School.  Joe went on to attend Bentley College where he graduated with a degree Accounting.  During his time at Bentley, Joe began his career as a union worker at the Converse Rubber Shoe Company. After graduating, Joe became a Certified Public Accountant and had a long and distinguished career in accounting and finance.   Joe furthered his education at Harvard University.  Joe’s career moved his family throughout the Northeast; including stops in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey.   Most recently, Joe served as the Treasurer at the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space in Satellite Beach, FL, where Celeste and Joe resided.

Joe was fiercely loyal, sneaky smart and had a love for life.  His passions revolved around his family, especially spending time with Celeste, his children, and grandchildren.  Joe was an avid sports fan, he loved the Boston Red Sox (and any team that beat the Yankees), the Philadelphia Eagles, Villanova Basketball and watching his grandkids play any sport.  He did not like peas, snakes and never wore jeans.  He found true joy in the people and activities around him, including his many friends and beloved sports teams.
