Obituary of Paul Kolasky
In loving memory of Paul M. Kolasky who passed away January 20, 2023. Paul was born on April 22, 1936 in Weirton, West Virginia. After graduating from Kent State University with a degree in Industrial Technology, he was commissioned into the U.S. Army as an officer in 1958. He attained the rank of Captain and worked on Guidance Systems for ballistic missiles. Paul moved to Florida in 1963, with his wife Eve and their three children to join NASA, as our nation began its exploration into space. As a senior project engineer, he played key roles in Apollo, Saturn V, Skylab, and Space Shuttle Programs. He retired as a Payload Project Manager in 1996. He received his Masters Degree from Florida State University and was an avid Seminole’s booster and fan.
Paul and Eve were active members of Holy Name of Jesus Parish, where their three children attended school and they recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Paul earned his builders contractor license and spent his early years of retirement building a second home in the mountains of North Carolina. He enjoyed time spent with his son and son in-laws teaching them about the building process. He is survived by his beloved wife Eve, son Gregory Kolasky (Ginger), daughter Terese Jacobsen (Bernie), daughter Debra Towle(Paul), eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
