Obituary of Joseph Micheal Kish

Kish, Joseph “Joey”, 59, of Satellite Beach passed away April 18, 2023 at home after a valiant battle with glioblastoma. Joey is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Karin and is survived by his sister Pamela, brother in law John, loving niblings Mitchell and partner Milo, Axel and partner Cait, and Steven and partner Abi, and “parents in love”, Tom and Lee. Joey loved cheering on his Orlando Magic, Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Bucs, Tampa Bay Lightning and most recently Jacksonville Jaguars with his best friend, Josh. He loved being a part of the Peloton Community as #JOEYMAGIC where he high fived everyone on the leaderboard during his almost 1400 workouts. Joey left a trail of love and smiles as the door greeter of every gym he worked out at, the former Suncoast Fitness in St.. Petersburg and most recently Planet Fitness in Satellite Beach where he would hold the door for the early morning gym goers with words of encouragement. Joey said he was paid in smiles and hugs and would have driven through barricades to not be late for his gym family.

Joey was an avid comic book collector and grilled cheese connoisseur who had to have ring pops for Halloween, never wanting to miss a chance to greet “The Littles” in their costumes as he wore one of his.

Joey loved Radio Disney, Hallmark Movies, Animal Crossing and Farmville (so much so, that he convinced folks he was really harvesting crops). His signature wave and smile made every day a good one. If Joey knew you, he knew your name, and if he knew your name, he loved you.

There will be a private scattering of Joey’s ashes by family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you pay it forward with kindness in Joey’s memory.
