Obituary of Nancy Warren

Nancy Warren

November 23, 1958 – February 18, 2024

Nancy Warren made her grand exit from this Earth on Sunday February 18, 2024. Her future plans include adventuring around the universe while asking a lot of questions, reuniting with her cherished Chihuahua Nutmeg, and drinking wine with Princess Dianna. Nancy will be patiently waiting to be joined by her beloved husband, Ben, but if Neil Diamond gets there first Ben might need to wait a bit longer.

Born Nancy Ellen Weisner, in Detroit, MI, Nancy was smart enough to escape to better weather in Florida before the age of One. While growing up in sunny Merritt Island, Nancy was a true middle child of eight, putting up with her older siblings, caring for her younger siblings, and surviving catholic school.

A graduate of Merritt Island High School, it was during her high school days that she met a handsome Junior ROTC officer, Ben. It was love at first sight for both, and after a few logistics, such as Nancy “unknowingly” sabotaging Ben’s relationship at the time, the two fell quickly in love. A year after Nancy’s graduation, the two married in 1977.

After ten wonderful years of marriage, and shortly after moving to Orlando, FL Nancy and Ben welcomed their only daughter, Elizabeth. Nancy settled into motherhood with ease and quickly taught her daughter to be strong and to stand up for herself. Fighting the school board over busing and teachers over class schedules, Nancy always made sure Elizabeth was safe and steadfast. She also made sure to teach Elizabeth to have plenty of snacks while traveling. Something that Elizabeth has always taken seriously on her many travels.

Nancy served the US Postal Service for 27 years. Filling many roles in that time, Nancy found her passion with First Day of Issue Event Planning. During her time, she met race car drivers, cartoonist, storm troopers, Disney princesses, astronauts, among many other characters, and for the day… was their boss.

After retiring from the Postal Service Nancy told Ben it was time to move back to the coast. Satellite Beach soon became their new home. During retirement Nancy turned back to her volunteering and social activism. She served many people in her time with Meals on Wheels, and she could frequently be found on the picket line wearing her “Nasty Woman” shirt.

Though Nancy has been released from her earth-bound vessel her legacy remains with everyone who knew her. Let her spirit inspire you when you feel injustice and wish you had the strength to speak up, encounter someone, or animal, in need, or any time you are offered two-for-one margaritas.

Nancy is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Ben Warren, her loving daughter Elizabeth Warren and Husband Brandon Davis, and siblings Sally Glass, Cathy Solomon, John Weisner, Mike Weisner, and Trish McDonald.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at Beach Funeral Home, Satellite Beach, FL on Friday March 8, 2024, 2-4pm with reception to follow at the club house at Silver Sands Condominium. And upon Nancy’s request, NO CRYING.

Memorial contributions can be made in the name of Nancy Warren to the World Wildlife Foundation, Doctors Without Borders, and World Central Kitchen.
