Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Shea Rost

Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Shea Rost passed away suddenly Wednesday 2-28 after a rapidly progressive respiratory illness.

Beth was born in Toledo, Ohio and attended McCauley High School class of 1972.  She became a Registered Nurse through Mercy Hospital in Toledo and completed her training as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist through the program at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo.  Beth earned her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Anesthesia from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. and had an astounding nearly 50 year career as a nurse anesthetist with experience and expertise in every aspect of perioperative care.  

Along the way she earned the respect and friendship of the innumerable colleagues and medical personnel with whom she worked.  Her wit and wisdom were great sources of her success and she was considered a fabulous resource of practical knowledge and skill.

Beth was very outgoing and friendly and made many friendships and lasting relationships throughout her life.  She was an incredible mother not only to her children but to so many others who she helped guide and support in life. She could never be replaced or duplicated and will be severely missed by all those who were lucky enough to know her.

Surviving family include son Jonathan (Chris) and daughters Catherine and Jen (Katherine), ex-husband and partner Jeff; brother Mike (Emily) and sisters Kathy (John), Judy (Ron), and Patty and grandchildren Spencer and Kate.
