Obituary of Gennealee Dean

Gennealee (Genny) Lloyd Dean passed away peacefully at home in Satellite Beach, FL at the age of 80 on 05 March 2024.

Genny was born in Fletcher, NC and although she lived much of her life there, she moved to Satellite Beach, FL in 2009.  Genny loved her flowers and plants, so the move was perfect for her to grow year round and plant, plant, plant.   

Genny was predeceased by her loving parents, General (Gid) Lloyd and Idalee Israel Lloyd, and her loving husband Floyd Dean.

Genny is survived by her big sister Barbara Lloyd, and by her loving children Cindy Parzych (Steve), Charlene Nelson, Buddy Dean (Alisa), and Aaron Dean (Kim).

Genny was a loving Mamaw to her 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Grandchildren: Jewels, Lauren, RJ, Brooklyn, Brandon, Ryan, Madi, Shawn, Nicolas, and Rosey.  Great grandchildren:  Rayleigh, Brayden, Alayna, Ezra, and Sadie. 

Genny spent many years in the restaurant industry, but her love was playing in the dirt.  Planting and nurturing flowers and trees, the same way she nurtured all the young people in her life.  You didn’t need to be related to have her be your Mamaw.  Her kindness and compassion was abundant to those people and animals lucky enough to be in her life. 

The family will host a celebration of life in North Carolina in April.  Specific date and time to be finalized at a later date.
