Tom was one of the finest and funniest men I ever had the pleasure of working with and for, but a lousy driver! I rode with him a couple of times when we worked together at KSC, but soon learned to avoid that "adventure". Tom was my boss for a while in 1987; then when he retired, I became Supervisor of Haz Gas. He always had a story to tell and was always ready for a good laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. God bless them all.

I worked with Tom at the Cape and more recently, communicated with him often on the web. I will miss Tom. I wish the best during this hard time for his family. I know it is very hard, I lost my wife a little over ayear ago. I will pray for Tom and his family. Toms friend.. Bill

I remember Mr. Tom Rowat as the always happy and funny father of my good friend, Gail, growing up in Satellite Beach. The times I spent at the Rowat household were always filled with laughter and fun. Tom always seemed to enjoy life and I will remember him as he is in the picture - smiling contently. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. I know he will be greatly missed. Sherry and Bob Atkins

Tom was a great guy to work with. In 1977 at the start of the Shuttle Program Tom and I went to NSTL in Mississippi for about three months on the first External Tank. We shared a car and all our meals together. We had some good times and lots of laughs together. I got to really know Tom and learn what a good Engineer and wonderful person he was. Over the years we have laughed about those days. Tom will really be missed and I will always have a place in my heart for such a wonderful friend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Tom, Nothing in this world is indestructible, but we kind of thought you might be. Your awesome energy was inspiring. When we volunteered on Samsons Isand you always out-worked us younger "old folks". Your wonderful wit and quick laugh will always be with us. We enjoyed the many nights of square dancing and dinners at Mee Maws with you and Janet and the rest of the gang. We know you will be missed by many, and we are among that group. It was an honor to know you.

Tom and I worked on the Space Shuttle External Tank together and occasionally carpooled when I lived in satellite Beach. He was liked by all and will be missed by many.
