Obituary of William Clarence Poland

William C. "Bill" Poland, Jr., 82, of Satellite Beach, died Thursday, January 12, 2012. Bill was born on July 6, 1929 in Garton, WV to William and Anna Poland. He served his country honorably and retired with U.S. Navy. Bill was a life member with the American Legion, Post #163, V.F.W Post #4643, Elks Lodge #1744, Masonic Lodge #354 of Indialantic, Azan Shriners and Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Satellite Beach. Bill was predeceased by his wife; Virginia C, daughter; Judith Anne and brother; Earl. He is survived by his life companion; Rita Marie Haynes, son; William J., sisters; Mayme V. Dalton and Martha Stanton, brother; Paul E., granddaughter; Elizabeth Anne, grandson; Matthew E., and half brothers; Billy and Jerry. Viewing hours will be held at Beach Funeral Homes, Indian Harbour Beach, on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, January 20, 2012, at the Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Satellite Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for the Children or the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches in Bill's name.
