Obituary of Harold Alfred Daley

Harold Alfred Daley, 96, of Satellite Beach, FL, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012. He was born on November 10, 1915 to Harold Chase Daley and Mabel (Noxon) Daley in Amsterdam, NY. Harold was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII. Harold married Janet Hemens on August 16, 1947 at Sidney, New York. Harold raised his family in New Rochelle, NY where he was the Assistant Principal of New Rochelle High School for many years. After retiring, he became Principal of The Robinson School in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico for 7 years. He moved to Florida from Stockbridge, MA and has resided here with Janet since 1986. Harold was a humorous, kind and gentle man. He loved their summer home in Stockbridge, MA and taught a number of generations to fish and boat on the lake. Harold enjoyed playing Sequence, Canasta and other card games with his friends and family. He also enjoyed fixing things around the house and making things in his garage workshop. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Janet; three children, Catherine Katen, Robert Daley and wife Elisabeth, and Pegi Rodemann and husband Christopher; sister Jean Marino; grandchildren Kelly Seperack, Roger Katen II and wife Michele, Heather Burket and husband Christopher, Rachel Rodemann, Meaghan and Christopher Daley; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Jamison Seperack. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Satellite Beach United Methodist Church, 450 Lee Avenue, Satellite Beach, FL, 32937 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Save The Children at 54 Wilton Road, Westport, CT 06880(1-800-728-3843) (www.savethechildren.org) or to the Satellite Beach United Methodist Church at the above address.
