Obituary of Charles William Younger

Charles William Younger, 82, passed away quietly at home on Sunday, June 17, 2012 under the tender care of hospice and his wife of 12 years, Georgine, at his side. Charles' life can be summed up as a faithful, hard working, loving, and honorable man. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and at an early age his family relocated to Lakeland, Florida. He graduated from Lakeland High School and shortly after graduation joined the United States Navy. He was in the "Silent Service" Submariner for over 21 years. He attended nuclear school, and was a Naval Recruiter for a number of years. Charles was a Retired Chief Petty Officer. He enjoyed many hobbies, a few were building doll houses and carousel horses. Charles is survived by his wife, Georgine. He is also survived by three children, Kim Younger, Karen Younger Stewart and William "Bill" Younger, 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister, Martha Godfrey. A memorial service will be held at Harbor City Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 11am.
