Obituary of Roland Edward Leduc

Our beloved Father and friend, "Duke", passed away Saturday, August 25th after a long illness. One of eight children of Telesphore and Exilia Leduc, he was born on May 17, 1932 in Southbridge, Massachusetts. After graduating from the Cole Trade School in Southbridge, MA, he entered the United States Air Force in 1951 where he served as a transportation mechanic. Stationed throughout Europe for most of his 20 years, he met his lovely wife Helene, of Fontainbleau, France in Ipswich, England. While stationed in Belgium, he played softball, baseball and bowling with the NATO Forces. He retired in 1971 to his beautiful Florida to finally concentrate on fishing with all his children. While working for Civil Service, he continued his love of baseball as a volunteer umpiring his son's games, and joining the Fraternal Order of Police where he would take his daughter for bingo and dancing. Dad, to everyone, leaves behind his devoted and loving wife of 57 years, Helene (Linard), son Roland Jean, daughter-in-law Sandi and daughter Therese (Leduc). His son Richard preceded him in death in 2010. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Benjamin, Brian, Brigitte (Dilts); Robert, Jacqueline, Stephanie (Leduc); 5 great-grandchildren: Branson, Brooklyn, Alexander, Noah (Leduc) and newest addition Jaylen (Dilts). His twin sister, Irene Bibeau of Southbridge, MA and Janette Montigny of Connecticut. In France his "brother"-in-law Andre Linard, sister-in-law, Yvette, nephews Jean-Claude and Alain, nieces Francoise and Marie-France, with many more cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
