Obituary of Marvin Isom Wright

MARVIN ISOM WRIGHT, 90 of Satellite Beach, a 45 year resident of Satellite Beach, passed away peacefully Friday, November 9, 2012 after a brief illness. Marvin was born on January 1, 1922 in Phil Campbell, Alabama to the late George Washington Wright and Minnie Lee Isom Wright. He was a long time resident of Aiken, South Carolina before moving to Florida in 1968. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a graduate of Auburn University. During his career as an electrical engineer, Marvin worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority, DuPont, General Electric and NASA. Marvin was blessed with 27 healthy years of retirement, enjoying time spent with family, travel and reading Marvin is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Tillie Wright, his daughter, Brenda Dowling of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Brian Thomson of Houston, Texas and Brooke Thomson of Sarasota, Florida; along with a nephew and several nieces. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 14th from 9:30 - 10:30 am with a service to begin at 10:30 am. at Beach Funeral Homes, Indian Harbour Beach. Internment will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 2:30 pm. Donations may be made in Marvin's memory to the Florida Baptist Children's Home, the Salvation Army or to the charity of your choice.
