Obituary of Lilly Ruth Larson

Lilly R. Haraldsen Larson, 53, passed away on 12/28/12 after a long battle with cancer. The eternal optimist she was bolstered by the prayers, love and support of those around her. She took comfort and found hope in the treatments rendered to her by her caring physicians, nurses and technicians, they gave her a vision and a goal. Lilly went forward intent on surviving. She met many wonderful people on this journey, people whose compassion lifted her spirits and helped her get through the challenges. She was eternally grateful for the comfort they brought to her. But the challenge overtook her and at last she found serenity, her prayers were answered, and God granted her the peace she so richly deserved. Finally she is at rest. Lilly was born in Brooklyn NY to Haakon and Ruth Haraldsen. Among family and friends Lilly grew into a accomplished, confident woman. Inspired by her parents, Lilly traveled the world, always anxious to see something new. From coast to coast and across the ocean she toured new horizons and made new friends around the world. Lilly worked in Human Resources at the Yale Club of NYC until she and Ron relocated to Florida in 1996. She then worked at Excel Agent Services in their Personnel Section and then to IAP International (Johnson Controls) in Cape Canaveral until her recent retirement. Lilly is survived by her loving husband Ron, her devoted sister Rose Swan of Sayreville, NJ, brother in law Rich Swan and nephew David. Her cousins in Flekkefjord, Norway, Idaho, Washington and Oregon mourn her loss together with her and Ron's extended family,friends, children and grandchildren in New York, New Jersey and Florida. There will be a Celebration of Remembrance on Jan 12, 2013 from 2pm to 4pm at Beach Funeral Home West, 4999 N Wickham Road, Melbourne, Fl. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lilly's name to the American Cancer Society, the ASPCA, or the United Way.
