Obituary of Joseph Louis Maltese

Joseph L. Maltese, 89, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013. Born in NYC, he served during WWII in the Army Corps of Engineers where he learned his trade as a carpenter. In 1988, he and his wife moved to Melbourne. He is survived by Anne, his loving wife of 64 years, daughters JoAnn (Norm) Meaker; Catherine Maltese (Edward Buell); and son Richard (Karen); his grandchildren Christopher (Heather) Meaker, Scott (Jenna) Meaker, Andrew Higdon, Michael and Stephanie Maltese; his great-grandchildren Alex, Lauren and EJ Meaker; brother Ben Maltese; sister Faye Hackman; and nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 22, from 5-7pm at Beach Funeral Homes, 4999 N. Wickham Road. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 23 at 10am at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ascension Catholic Church, the Alzheimer's Foundation, or Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice.
