John was a wonderful man - He was one of the men I met when I moved here in the 1970's and he was so full of life and so smart - I always looked up to him and wanted to be a honest good business man just like him - over the years I was always amazed at his great success - he really lived life to the max and looked good doing it - I was shocked to learn today he had passed away I did not know - I will miss the times I would run into him or hear what he was doing he was really a good man and I cannot say that about everyone I have every known R.I.P. Godspeed

I want to send my most sincere condolences to John's family. I have so many fond memories of John starting with the day I first met him in December 0f 1977. I remember this day so well because I had just had my baby, Jake Goodwin, and I was sitting on the couch nursing Jake in my little rental house on Cherry Street behind Jim Rathman Chevrolet. I had a bad a** mutt named Spot who lived outside and had a bark of a German Shepard and the body of a daschund. This big man came up to my screened door and knocked. Spot must have been around the corner of the house so when he heard the knock he tore across the yard barking and running towards this big guy. Before I could say anything this man started yelling and cursing in this booming voice and opened the screen door and barged right into my house! He boomed out the words "your dog is trying to kill me!!!!! He proceeded to come sit next to me, baby nursing and all, and started talking to me like he had known me all my life. I was so shocked I didn't know what to say. He just kept talking like there was nothing unusual about this situation except that my dog had scared the curse word out of him! He began to try and sell me life insurance. I tried discreetly to take my baby off my boob while this man just kept laughing and talking like he was my best friend. I told him I needed to change Jake's diaper. He followed me into the nursery and kept talking while I proceeded to change the diaper. He never skipped a beat and he just made me laugh. John Walden and I were friends from that day forward. I just can not imagine this world without John Walden. He was bigger than life. He defined the words fun, jovial, interesting, loving, energetic, and giving. The last time I saw John was at Jackson Vaughn's 101st birthday. I only wish I had spent more time with him that day. John will be missed by so many. I am so saddened by this loss.

Dear John, My life changed the day I walked into your office in downtown Melbourne. That was 30 years ago. So many of the good things that have happened in my life can be traced back to you. Thank you for sharing a bit of your amazing life with me and my family. You are loved.

John REALLY did make the world's best crab cakes! He said he did, and proved it time and time again. Mr. Personality worked to have it all, and ALWAYS did it His Way. His way was normally not the most conventional, but it certainly worked and endeared him to everyone he met. We will miss him greatly. Whisper us some secrets, when you can! Ciao.

What can I say about John Walden.
CEO, sailor, pilot, world traveler, entrepreneur extraordinaire, and so much more. In our 40 year relationship, we didn't spend as much time together as I would have liked, but the time we had was quality time. We spoke of meaningful issues, ideas and events. And of the more mundane such as how to hook a golf ball and growing tomatoes. We shared our experiences, talked of our families and comforted each other on our losses.
Above all, I will remember John as one of the kindest, most generous, and most sincere men it was my privilege to know. And I will miss him dearly.
Rest in peace my friend.
