Obituary of Carmen Lopez

Carmen Lopez, 102 of Indian Harbour Beach passed away, Tuesday, August 25, 2009. She was born on April 9, 1907 in Olancho Juticalpa, Honduras. She had one son, Reginald (Reggie, Sr.) who preceded her in death on May 10, 2007. Carmen worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Honduras until she immigrated to the USA in January 1950. She immediately learned English and became a US Citizen in 1970; she loved this country with all her heart. She traveled with her son, daughter-in-law, Lotte and 3 grandchildren to Japan, Okinawa and Germany. Carmen worked as a L.P.N. in Laredo, TX in 1955 and in the 1970s at Ocean Breeze Elementary School Cafeteria. She was a skilled seamstress and made many of Brevard brides' dresses, including her granddaughters. Carmen traveled to Miami and Cleveland to be present when her great grandchildren were born. She is survived by her loyal daughter-in-law, Lotte Lopez; grandchildren, Carmen (Bob) Thibault, Reggie, Jr. (Brenda), Sylvia (Michael) Incorvaia; and great-grandchildren, Christie and Brian Thibault and Mike, Jr. and Gina Incorvaia. The family would like to thank Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice and Consulate Health Care as well as so many friends for their care and love throughout the years. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3rd, at Beach Funeral Home in Indian Harbour Beach, with a funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Entombment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice or Honor America, 1601 Oak St., Melbourne.
