Obituary of Marcelle Abbey
Marcelle Abbey passed away peacefully at her home in Melbourne, FL on Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Marcelle was born in France on June 29, 1929. She grew up in France and Germany. Marcelle met John D. Abbey, Sr. in 1950, in Munich, Germany and they were married on December 1, 1953. Marcelle became a U.S. Citizen on August 11, 2000.
Marcelle is survived by her husband John D. Abbey, Sr. of Melbourne, Fl, five children, Donna(George) Matthews of Lockwood, NY; John D. Abbey, Jr. of Melbourne, FL; Betty-Jean (Bill) Edwards of Ogdensburg, NY; Gary (Diane) Abbey of Melbourne, FL; and Steve (Sue) Abbey of Rockledge, FL; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew of France.
Marcelle was preceded in death by her parents, Marcelline Fritchy and; Eugene Hartmann; a brother, Charles Paul; and a sister, Emily Ginglinger of France.
Marcelle enjoyed summers camping in the mountains of Pennsylvania, with wonderful friends. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Marcelle also enjoyed reading, crocheting and country music.
A gathering will be held from 10 a.m. -11 a.m. with Celebration of Her Life to follow at 11 am, Saturday, August 29, 2009, at Beach Funeral Homes, Melbourne/Suntree 4999 N. Wickham Road.
