Those of us who got to be friends with the rising of the sun at the boardwalk will miss Ray. It was a pleasure to begin the day with him once in awhile. One less Ray of sunshine will be seen every morning. Blessings

I was a boardwalk friend of Ray's. I already miss his smiling face and early morning chats. I always looked forward to seeing Ray sitting there in the peaceful early morning light as I walked up on the boardwalk in Indialantic.

I will never forget you Ray. I always looked forward to early morning walks to the boardwalk with my Mom and stopping to talk to you about the cats, my kids at school, football or whatever else was on our minds. You would tease my mom about being short…”short stuff” was your name for her. You had a name for all of us. :) I loved to listen to your commentary when the Art Festival or Easter Mass would take over “our space”. You were so funny. I was thrilled when I talked to you in rehab and you told me how successful the operation was and that you could finally breathe easy again. You were so upbeat and excited. You left us way too soon Ray. Thank you for always looking after my stray cats…they miss you too. Guess who is feeding them now? Harry…look what you started. I miss you Big Guy. You promised me that you would walk with us when you got out of rehab. We didn’t get that walk but I hope you are still watching over us. You have left a void no one else can fill. I love you Ray!! Dear Ray, You may be gone, but are not forgotten. I am so very sorry that you were so far away that we couldn't visit you - though the telephone calls we made were upbeat. We so looked forward to seeing you every morning - still dark at 0500 - your dry sense of humor. Felt safe wallking that early, knowing you were there to watch over us. You told us your birthday was May 27th, which is also my mothers - though hers was 5/27/1888. I look at that brightest of stars that we always discussed, and know, now, that it is you - who will be watching over us for as long as we are here. You left us much too soon. Know that we loved you - and you will forever hold a place in my heart.
