Obituary of Roland Joseph Brunelle

Roland J. "BUD" Brunelle, born August 25, 1941, in Hartford CT, died on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at William Childs Hospice House. Mr. Brunelle grew up in Worchester, MA, one of five children. Mr. Brunelle enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve, received his degree from Worchester State College and his masters from navy post-graduate school in Monterey, CA. He served in the USMC for 27 years, with tours of duty in Vietnam, Philippines, Okinawa, and several duty stations in the Washington, D.C. area. He retired as a highly decorated Lt. Col.. He resided in Satellite Beach, FL for the past 18 years. Bud was a sober AA member for 32 years. He is survived by thousands of grateful members of AA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Isabelle; and survived by his children, Brenda (Keith) Sale, Susan Brunelle, Lisa Brunelle; and granddaughter Isabella Sale; brother; David (Sandy) Brunelle; sisters: Denise (Ed) Dodd, Adrienne (Mike) Sutton, and Jennifer Goodwin; loving nieces and nephews, and many special friends. Bud always lived his life "one day at a time." A memorial gathering will be held at the East Minister Presbyterian Church, 106 N. Riverside Drive, Indialantic on Monday, October 12, 2009, from 5 to 6 p.m., with the service to follow at 6 p.m. Full Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Marine Corp following the service.
