Obituary of Charles Neil Markum

Our loving, and devoted Father and Grandfather, Charles Neil Markum, passed peacefully on Monday, October 26th, 2009. Neil was born May 27th, 1931 in Clinton, OK to the late Charles, and Marie Harris Markum. Neil graduated from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK in 1954. After graduating college, Neil served in the United States Army. This service included tours in North Africa and Southern Europe. Neil met and married Dorthy Nell Dean of Paris, Arkansas and relocated to Satellite Beach, FL. It was here that he established Neil Markum Insurance Agency where he worked for 40 years. Neil was an active member of the Satellite Beach Lions Club, and Trinity Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, his brother, Alan Dale Markum, precedes him in death. He is survived by his brother Todd Markum of Edmond, OK; his four children, Whitt Markum of Boca Raton, Erin Maselli, and Kristin Overbay of Indian Harbour Beach, and Cory Case of Jacksonville; as well as his nine loving grandchildren, Lauren and Travis Markum, Ember and Anthony Maselli, Jonathan, Samuel, and Shane Overbay, and Craig and Colton Case. A kind and supportive family member, he was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Service will be held, Thursday, November 5th, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in Neil's name to Satellite Beach Lions Foundation.
