Obituary of Marshall Spring

Marshall "Bud" Spring Jr.., passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at Holmes Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. Bud is survived by his three children; Tripp Spring, Valerie Trantham, and Carla Spring-Meyer; and three grandchildren, Beau Spring, Shelby Meyer and Madison Meyer. Bud was predeceased by his wife and high school sweet heart, Tene. He was born in Toledo, OH Oct. 26, 1924 and raised in Miami. Bud was drafted by the Army in 1943 and saw front line action in N. Africa and Italy. He was a double combat wounded Purple Heart recipient. He left the army after the war and attended college at North Carolina State. His career was in architecture and construction. He managed very large construction projects in Miami Beach, Memphis, and Little Rock. Bud's hobbies were boating and helping others. He is a former captain of the Little Rock Power Squadron and former Habitat for Humanity volunteer. He was a long time volunteer for the Viera VA Clinic. He recently received a Presidential Citation for VA volunteers. A private ceremony Celebrating His Life will be held at a later date. Bud asked that in lieu of flowers, just help a vet.
