Obituary of Gerald S. Duggan

Gerald (Gerry) Duggan, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 13, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bronx, NY, Gerry served his country in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Newark College of Engineering and earned his master's degree from Seattle University. He worked as an engineer with Harris Corporation until his retirement, and was a resident of Indialantic for the past 30 years. Gerry was an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, and was a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program. Gerry was the beloved husband of Marilyn Mersereau for 56 years, the loving father of his son, Rev. Fr. Sean Brett Duggan of Fredonia, NY; his daughter, Jennifer L. Duggan of Buchanan, VA; and the devoted grandfather of Christopher, Shawna and Jonathan Foley of Virginia. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 16 at 1 p.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic, followed by Mass at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Palm Bay. Donations may be made in Gerry's honor to the Holy Name of Jesus Endowment Fund.
