Obituary of Irene Hamilton Clark

Irene Hamilton Clark passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011. She was born on September 5, 1911 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Mary Coleman Hamilton. She grew up in Detroit and married Willard C. Clark there on December 20, 1941. Upon his discharge from military service they lived in or near Detroit, Michigan where they were both teachers and administrators in the Detroit Public school system. Irene always loved to travel, especially to see family members and after retirement she and Bill traveled extensively, around the United States and Europe. They moved to Indian Harbour Beach in 1987. Irene and Bill had no children of their own, but were very supportive of all their nieces and nephews and were like second parents to many of them. Irene was very family oriented and kept track of four generations of Hamilton descendents and remembered all the accomplishments in their lives. Irene was an active Catholic all her life and lived her faith every day of her life. She became an active member of Holy Name of Jesus church when she moved to Indian Harbour Beach. She was also active in an Alzheimer support group for many years. She is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews but will be most missed by Judy & Bernie Brophy, Nancy DeSantis, Mary Caccavo, Tom Caccavo, Donna & Joe Eckhoff, Edward & Marlene Pedlow, Alan & Dianne Pedlow, Pat Simovic; and all her grand, great-grand and great-great-grand nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation or American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
