Obituary of Michael K. Black

Michael Kevin Black, 55, was called home into the arms of the Lord, on April 5th 2011, after a courageous and dignified battle with metastatic melanoma. Michael is survived by his wife and best friend of 34 years, Pamela Black of Melbourne, two daughters Jennifer and Julie Black also of Melbourne, sister, Helen Marie Black-Lahti of Jacksonville, FL, brother Mark Black (Elaine) of Columbia, SC, two nieces, seven nephews, Rudy a very special K9 that stayed by his side throughout his illness, and many friends and family who gave their love and support. Michael retired August 2010 from the Eau Gallie Yacht Club where he was Executive Chef for nearly 26 years. His presence and fun loving spirit will be greatly missed until we are one day reunited. A casual gathering to celebrate Michael's life will be held at Gleason Park Community Center on South Patrick Drive on Sunday, April 17 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests expressions of sympathy be made in Michael's memory to South Animal Care & Adoption Center 253-6608 or to G.P.S.
