Obituary of Alma Collie

Alma Collie, 73, of Indialantic, FL, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Holmes Regional Medical Center. Alma was born on April 24, 1938 in Streeter, ND to Theodore and Olga Stockburger. The family moved to Bell Fourche, SD, where Alma attended school, and later graduated from Rapid City Business College, Rapid City, SD. Alma met her husband Van B. Collie, Jr., and married on July 30, 1966. They raised their family in Falls Church, VA. Alma and Van moved to Indialantic, FL in 1991 and have been active in both career and community activities. Alma worked as an administrative assistant in the technology and aerospace industries. She was quite active in the Daughters of the Nile, and served as Secretary, Melbourne Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, Van; sons, Brian (Midge) and Joseph; grandchildren Matthew and Michael; sister Evangeline Davis; and brother, Robert. She is further survived by her beloved dog, Juliette. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 a.m., Monday, June 20, 2011, at Beach Funeral Home, Indian Harbour Beach with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Ralph Nygard of First Baptist Church of Eau Gallie officiating.
