Obituary of Robert G. McIntyre

Robert McIntyre passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 8, 2011. Robert was born on December 24, 1926 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy aboard the USS Shasta in the South Pacific as a Chief Radioman during WWII. While working in Poughkeepsie, NY he met his wife, Frances of 62 years. They were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. After a 26-year career, he retired as an engineer, from the New York Telephone Co. in 1983, in Saratoga Springs, NY. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Indian Harbour Beach, FL in 1984. Robert was an active member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Indialantic, FL. Robert was a member of the Elks and Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Frances McIntyre; his son, Robert of Virginia; daughters, Regina of California, Anne Marie of New York, Frances of Maryland and Susan of Alaska, fifteen grandchildren and Seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Henrietta McIntyre; a daughter, Eileen of Texas; a granddaughter, Stephanie; brother James and Sister, Joan. The family will be receiving family and friends at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Indialantic on Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., with a Funeral Mass to be begin at 11:00a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in his memory to a charity of your choice.
