Obituary of Seth Thomas Stark

Seth Thomas Stark passed into God's hands on September 14th, 2011 at the age of 46. Seth grew up in the small town of Briarcliff Manor, New York. Wonderful childhood memories were created with an extended family of cousins in New York and with vacations to Cape Cod and Florida. Seth spent his middle school and high school years in Miami, Florida and graduated from Palmetto High School in 1983. Seth was the first in his family to discover the charm of Melbourne Beach in 1989. He described it as "Cape Cod South" with all the fun of spending summers in South Wellfleet, MA, but with warmer water. His sister Susie, mother Jane, and brother Scott soon followed Seth's lead and made Melbourne Beach home, leaving brother Steven in Miami to represent the family at Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes football games. Melbourne Beach became the special place where Seth helped create many family memories for his entire family, including his niece Megan and nephew Kyle. Seth believed in the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child" and did his part as a community leader to create awesome childhood memories for many children in Melbourne Beach over the past twenty years. Seth proudly raised his two children, Kimberly and Kendall, in the quaint small town community of Melbourne Beach that he loved so much. He joined the Melbourne Beach Volunteer Fire Department in 1994, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, William Bowers, a Fire Chief and community leader in his original hometown. Like his grandfather, Seth rose through the ranks of the volunteer fire department, culminating in his service as Fire Chief from 2006 -2011. Seth's passion for service to the community and helping others through his role as a volunteer firefighter was evident in the many community events that he and his family participated in throughout the years. Seth's career path was mainly centered the food service industry, another passion he followed as greatly influenced from his Uncle Bill in Miami. Seth was a Marketing Associate for Sysco Foods, Southeast Florida since 1999. Seth's outgoing, friendly and compassionate nature was evident to all who met him. He is fondly remembered for his blustery personality, sense of humor, and ability to make people laugh even amidst personal struggles and difficulties. Seth Stark left an impression on many people who crossed his path. He had a strong faith in God and was instrumental in the establishment of Waterfront Worship with St. Mark's Methodist Church. Seth lived what can be described as "a life that mattered" through the sharing of his generous spirit and his passion for helping others in need . He made a positive difference in many people's life. During the last year of his life, Seth shared his hopes and dreams with his beloved Natalie and her three children. He was extremely happy and fulfilled with the blended family life that he and Natalie created together with Kimberly, Kendall, Gideon, Sarah and Emma. May God keep the glow of the happy memories Seth created during his life with us brightly shining in our hearts and deeds forever.
