Obituary of Brant Louis Buchanan

Brant L. Buchanan, 55, passed away on June 11, 2020 after fighting a courageous battle with Lung Cancer. He was born on September 4, 1964 in Youngstown, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Buchanan.  He is survived by his mother, Mari L. Buchanan; sisters, Gwyn(Paul) Bauschatz, Jan(Sam) Venzeio; brothers, Charles Scott (Sandy) Buchanan and Kurt (Kathy) Buchanan; Nieces, Mollie, Whitney and Katelynn(Lynn); Nephews, Clint, Craig, Kyle, Drew, Cory, Teddy and Jason.

 

As a boy he was active in Boy Scouts and delivered newspapers for the Youngstown Vindicator. In High School he was a member of the Boardman High School Marching Band.  In 1980, he played his trumpet in the Macy’s Day Parade.  He and his father shared a love of the trumpet, and the group TiJuana Brass.

 

He went on to graduate from Youngstown State University in 1987 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

 

After graduation, it was off to Florida. His love of the water lead him to Indian Harbour Beach, which was his home for 30 years until his death. In his spare time after working for Tyco and Walmart, he enjoyed gardening, cooking good Italian food, going to the beach and loving his cats and birds.
