Eileen Wright

Obituary of Eileen M. Wright

Eileen was adopted during World War II and was the only child of Cathy & Donald Taylor. During her early years, she grew up in multiple Scottish seaports as her Dad worked in the Merchant Marines. She got married at age 17 to Mark Wright, who was serving in Scotland with the US Navy. She had two sons, Carl and Kenneth, before moving to Virginia when Eileen was 19 years old. Later, in 1972, the Wright family all moved back to Scotland for a year, where Keith was born, her youngest son. Eileen then became a US citizen in 1974.

She had many things she enjoyed doing: she taught Scottish Highland Dancing, she enjoyed sewing, ballroom dancing, gardening, and most of all traveling throughout Europe and 49 of the 50 states. When living in Florida, one of her favorite pasttimes was going down to the Sands Motel in the Florida Keys at Islamorada and going out on the boat hunting fish & lobster. In later years, she enjoyed tending her flower garden. Her husband pre-deceased her by 23 years. She remained an independent person, and was determined to maintain her independence and live in her own home. Happily, she achieved this goal, being able to live on her own and even able to drive.
