Obituary of Lois Plaia

Lois Plaia, from Satellite Beach, passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2021 after a long life of 91 years.  

Born in New Salem, Pennsylvania to a coal mining family, she traveled the country with her Air Force husband, Peter, then settled in Brevard County after his retirement in 1968.  During much of her life, she focused on raising her 4 children and keeping a home that moved every couple of years.

She was a woman who loved the change of seasons and often traveled back to her home in Pennsylvania to witness the autumn leaves and hope to catch some snow.  She relished a good discussion and believed it was important for everyone to “have an opinion”.  Notre Dame was her team and she religiously watched when they played.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by her children and their spouses, Bill Plaia (Gayle), Bob Plaia (Cindy), Lois Farmer (Wayne), and Pam Morissette (Allen).  There are nine  grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild soon to be born.

Visitation at 11:00 am and service starts at 11:30 am on Tuesday, April 27 at Beach Funeral Home.
